Terra Actualidad - EFE. The Spanish Enviroment Ministry has signed today an agreement with the regional goverments of Asturias and Galicia and Alcoa (Owner of the three only primary aluminium plants in Spain) to reduce CO2 emissions in 100.000 metric tons between 2008 and 2012.

The Mining company Rio Tinto has thrown a "friendly" offer over Canadian Aluminium Company Alcan with a price of 38.100 millions of Dollars (27.700 millions of Euros) in cash, informed today the company.

Las cuatro plantas de la estadounidense Alcoa en España adoptarán la denominación de Sapa, nombre bajo el que operará la compañía resultante de la integración de las actividades de extrusión de aluminio de Alcoa y la noruega Orkla, informó hoy esta sociedad.

Tras la materialización de la joint venture, Sapa se convierte en el mayor fabricante de perfiles de aluminio del mundo.
