EuroNews 24/10/2007. The English-Australian group has reached to the first position in the sector, after the success of the purchase over Alcan. Rio Tinto pay 25 thousand of millions of euros for the 80% of the shares of Alcan. The new company will produce yearly 4,4 millions of tons of aluminum. After them Rusal is the second with a small quantity less.
